Like a bit of broken pottery,

edges turned up toward heaven,

holding drops of dew,

I can only offer a taste of water from the sky.

Yet such water may be called blessed

by one thirsty enough.

It may be salvation

to the outcast and the dying.

William E. Rushman, September, 2000

Man Is An Indefinite Possibility of Growth
