Fish

Here is a fish,

pulled from the river.

It is better than

the fish in my pond.

I dozed by a stream,

slept by the river,

while many more fish

went by.

There were still others

but I was occupied

with writing in sand

and caught nothing.

If I am watchful

I may catch another

and we will feast.
