"I will not call it my philosophy; for I did not make it. God and humanity made it; and it made me."
G.K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy, 1908
This was the original Web page for our old domain before we changed it to avoid job discrimination.
Documents here are technical or related to our Faith. Please note that this home page is not broken up into separate sections, carefully isolated, for family, business, technical information and religion. This is because we strive to integrate all aspects of our lives under the way of our Lord, Jesus Christ. He is the reason for this site.
Ed is the husband and father. An IT manager and consultant, he has worked in
Systems Integration, Design and Strategic Planning for 25+ years, as well as
doing some very simple hardware design. He has earned the PMP designation and
is a member of PMI and Mensa. Ed has solved problems and managed projects involving
databases, data warehousing and call center (telephony) projects, UNIX/Oracle
production environment designs and manufacturing. Ed also taught engineering
computer graphics, along with UNIX shell and NC programming using Unigraphics.
He taught various classes ranging from First Communion for fifth through eighth
graders (with his wife, Carol) to Confirmation and R.C.I.A. (Rite
of Christian Initiation of Adults) for those interested in becoming Catholics,
as well as serving as a Christian-at-large. He has given talks on various aspects
of Christianity over the last 20+ years and a few on technical issues, such
as designing client/server solutions and data
warehousing. As a child, he acted in television shows, commercials and one
movie. Ed was recently in a play. Ed edits these pages and is responsible for
content. Ed's testimony

Carol is the wife of Ed. She has managed the household, raised children and volunteered in the Church for more than 20 years. Before that, she worked in a peer-to-peer retreat group called "Search for Christian Maturity," or "Search" for short. Carol and Ed met through it. Carol is not related to the astrologer of the same name.
The six children range in age from a six-year-old son (John Francis) to adult. As appropriate to their ages and God-given gifts, they also participate in the life of the Church. Like their parents, they love to read, talk or listen to stories.
This family is Catholic, which is the Christian Church founded by Jesus Christ, whom we believe to be the Son of God and one of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). We have a small list of resource sites available. We consider all Christians to be our brothers and sisters in the Lord, but acknowledge that some are separated from our communion. We love them just the same and pray for unity. Our parish church is Blessed Sacrament.
Also on this site are pages on Humility, Obedience and Charity. These three virtues are the keys to a radical renewal of the Christian Church. It may seem odd for a site to mention the virtue of humility, considering that Web pages are the latest exercise in megalomania for the computer-enabled. Since Ed's work for the last 25 years has been electronically oriented, he thought it best to become familiar with this medium. Oh, and yes, some of us tend toward megalomania anyway. We pray that God's grace keeps it under control...
We have a special appreciation for Scripture (the Bible). Use the Scripture link to read a few meditations and retellings of stories from the Bible.
Copyrights: Everyone here reserves all the usual rights. We will attribute quotes, but Scripture frequently gets into everything we write, and we don't always note the book, chapter and verse, as most of the time quotes are coming from memory. Some of our best hours have been spent searching out the location of a verse we remembered but couldn't find quickly. We want others to enjoy this pleasure, too. Please feel free to print pages and pass them around, but link to this site if you want something here on your pages. A mail message with the page(s) linked would be really nice, so we can try to keep those pages around. And, of course, if you are a publisher or writer wanting to include some of our work please let us know.
For questions about Christianity, computers or anything else, contact us. We'll also take any suggestions for topics, technical information or otherwise. See questions below.
